From personal assistants on our smartphones to self-driving cars, artificial intelligence (A.I.) is poised to play a major role in our lives over the coming decades. But what is A.I.? How does it work? What is it really capable of?
Join us at this two-day event (free of admission) to find out. Through a series of talks and interactive exhibits, we’ll help you to “connect the dots” – to understand bigger picture of A.I. by giving you a peak under the hood.
- An interactive exhibition combining educational stands with a showcase of state-of-the-art applications in A.I.
- Keynote speech: The state of artificial intelligence in a nutshell — On the symbiosis of man and machine, by Pascal Kaufmann, CEO of Starmind International AG
- Talks from exhibitors: How will A.I. shape society? Perspectives from Industry
This exhibition marks the first of a series of events discussing the coming impact of A.I. on various aspects of society. For more information on the rest of the series, see https://www.reatch.ch/de/ai-project.
Exhibitors
Industry
- DJI will show what A.I. enables in state-of-the-art drones. Control a drone with the palm of your hand!
- Bosch will show how A.I. can be used for diabetes diagnosis and automated recognition of road signs in self-driving cars.
- Google’s Natural Language Processing group will present research on automated question answering using A.I..
Academia
- Project ARC (ETH) will present a self-driving race car built by students. See how the steering moves automatically as the car replays its journey up the Klausenpass!
- The Neuromorphic Processor Project group (Institute of Neuroinformatics, UZH) will demonstrate an A.I.-powered rock-paper-scissors robot. Can you beat its lightning-fast reaction times?
- The Neuromorphic Cognitive Robots group (Institute of Neuroinformatics, UZH) will present robots powered by neurobiology-inspired neuromorphic A.I..
- iniLabs (Institute of Neuroinformatics, UZH) will present the DVS, a high- precision camera designed at the Institute and modelled on the biological vision system.
- IMAGINE – an interactive “moodboard” designed by ETH student Fabian Gremper. Tell it what you want to see, and let IMAGINE inspire you with relevant pictures selected using A.I..
Startups
- Parquery will present an A.I.-based system for parking analysis. Experiment with a model parking lot and see how it works first-hand!
- 1plusX will present A.I.-based advertising technology. Can you beat the A.I. in predicting what the customer will buy next?
- Daedalean will present technology for automated flight control of personal aircraft.
