Cluster Leader – Cybersecurity

100% – Permanent basis

At the GCSP, the Cybersecurity Cluster, within the Emerging Security Challenges Programme, focuses on pressing cyber issues in three areas of activity: (1) executive education, (2) policy analysis, and (3) dialogue. The cluster serves as a hub that convenes cyber experts from across the public sector, private sector, and civil society to examine current and future cyber challenges. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and delivering executive education courses, pursuing dialogue initiatives, and contributing to policy papers on cybersecurity issues. More specifically the following responsibilities will be part of the position:

  • Provide leadership in developing the cybersecurity cluster by drafting a cluster strategy that covers executive education, dialogue activities and policy analysis in order to   expand GCSP’s positioning in this field,
  • Nurture existing and build new networks with key stakeholders,
  • Raise funds to achieve the cluster objectives
  • Represent the GCSP at key events relevant to the implementation of the cluster strategy and to the promotion  of GCSPs leading position in the cybersecurity space,
  • Implement the cluster’s strategy and objectives within  budget and the agreed timeframe,
  • Expand the pool of external experts; plan and coordinate their input into the cluster’s  activities,
  • Collaborate closely with other relevant programmes and departments to achieve the cluster objectives.

Required competencies and experience:

  •  PhD in International Relations, Development, Political Sciences, Economics, International Law or other relevant field,
  • 7-10 years of work experience, with relevant experience in the field of cybersecurity,
  • Pedagogical skills and an ability to facilitate and  deliver courses and other activities (workshops, track 1.5 dialogues),
  • Leadership skills and high drive, a proactive and can-do attitude,
  • Ability to work autonomously,
  • Collaborative approach,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation,
  • Agile and flexible mindset,
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail,
  • Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity,
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of other languages is an asset,
  • Swiss or EU national or holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
